This hotel harbours the values of the city, because of its architecture and the contemporary artworks that we can find inside of it. Each floor of the building is decorated by a different artist specialized in a concrete technique: collage, photography, painting, video or engraving. Some of the artworks represent physical sites. Some others move through the memory, through the history of art or represent the encounter of different cultures. Each of these artworks transmits something different and creates a personal and unique dialogue with the guests of the hotel.

The artwork of David Ymbernon (Igualada, 1972) moves among performing arts, actions and performances, visual poetry, magic, cooking and photography.
For the photographic series exposed at Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel, the artist decided to put the building on the map with aerial views, locating the exact spot of the hotel in Barcelona.
The camera gets close to the Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel facade and shows a particular "bathtub-sugar bowl" from a white toy plane. In this photographic series he incorporates, using the collage technique, different chefs - always very present in his artwork sice the creation of the character Latung La La, a picturesque cook who is also a pilot. Latung not only appears on the plane, but also flying on a feather.
Ymbernon's world stays immortalized in orange and white, the fetish colours of the artist that contribute to create a ludic and a dream esthetic.

In the lobby of Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel the guests find an assorted group of artworks that are just the appetizer of what it is displayed in the different rooms.
Among them, the ”Words waterfall” stands out from the rest, falling above the lobby. This artwork was created by Chema Alvargonzález (Jerez de la Frontera, 1960). These words are made of stainless steel and they fall from the skylight in a natural way, creating shadows on the floor, on the handrail and on the bedroom doors of the different floors. They are in Catalan and Spanish, the two languages that are spoken in Barcelona, and they cross with each other in the same way that these languages intertwine during everyday conversations: house, memory, meet, search, adventure, understand, emotion, come back, greeting, surprise, attraction…
His fascination for the words and their physical representation are reflected in his photographs, videos, installations, actions and ephemeral projects in which the concept of traveling is always appearing, not with the purpose to arrive at one place, but for the pleasure of traveling, to be always on the way and ready to take the suitcase to go somewhere else.
A floor where different spaces converge that is the meeting point for hotel guests and visitors. It is also the place where different feelings emerge from the artwork of some of the artists in the exhibition of Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel.
You can have breakfast between anonymous stories emanating from the photos by Patricio Reig or talk about business between the bright and vibrant textures of Bosco Sodi.
The work of Patricio Reig (San Juan, Argentina, 1959) is based on the passing of time, the inability to retain an instant, the oblivion and the imprecision of the memories.
His sensitivity with the topics related to the memory is due to the events that overshadowed his native country during the '60s and the people who died and disappeared during the tragedy, his stay in Israel and the death of his old brother in an accident in 1992.
Drawing, painting, photography and video are the vehicles that Reig uses to rescue the memory of anonymous people, as the images that define his work have a history and a past that he ignores.
The artist knows that the past doesn't come back with the photographs and, even though they emanate a melancholic and nostalgic atmosphere, he observes them with a vital attitude that makes him conscious about the present and the things that surround him. All of this is visible in the artwork that is exhibited in Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel.

The career of Marta Montcada (Barcelona, 1961) was influenced by her first trip to Japan. She was impressed by the active cultural and artisan life of the country, and also by their attachment and respect for millennial traditions. She soon had the opportunity to show her work in Japan, where it is currently well received and recognized.
From the beginning of her artistic trajectory she showed a big love for nature and an affection for paper, which allowed her to get close to the Japanese culture. She adopted some aspects from the Japanese tradition, such as the sobriety when using colours.
All her artworks at Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel are created on paper. She applies her knowledge about graving on the painting, using the brush, the palette knife and particular procedures of the graphic arts.

The monochromatic work of Bosco Sodi (Mexico DF, 1970) attracts the attention of the observer and invites him, from the distance, to get closer. After this spontaneous impression of this first glance, the observer can expect endless emotions when approaching the picture.
For Sodi, each range and each texture is a world to explore. He prepares, in different buckets, each of the colours that he will use in his artwork: jute, conglomerate, natural pigments or glue that accumulate on the painting and create volumes. When working with paper, the artist buries it for a while so it can absorb the Earth pigments. Later on, he paints it with other natural pigments that he brings from the South of Mexico and that he uses to create weaves, splatters and light and colour modulations.

Since she was a child, Fiona Morrison (Andorra, 1970) was in contact with the art, especially because her father is the painter John Morrison. She started painting when she started her studies in Fine Arts in Barcelona, and later on she
extended his knowledge in photography and sculpture.
Morrison defines herself as more intuitive than thoughtful, although her most recent work is impregnated with concepts as traces and permeability.
Her collection for Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel consists of different photographic series, where she uses filters made by herself, experimenting with light and colours. It is visible her admiration for Gaudi and she offers her particular vision of the work of the catalan architect.
"We are surrounded by a lot of information and this influences us, but I like changing and finding new things. My work is based on impulses."
Bruno Ollé (Barcelona, 1983) is the youngest artist of the Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel collection, a clear bet for the emerging art.
Ollé works especially the collage technique, using materials in different states of degradation, such as bikes, fruit boxes, cardboards and papers, felt, playing cards or books from different topics.
Most of the artworks at Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel belong to his series Vallespir 15 and they are made on book pages, invoices and various documents that he found in an abandoned house.
The journey, both physical and metaphoric, is a constant topic in the artwork of Jorge R. Pombo (Barcelona, 1973). After studying advertising and graphic design and having worked for a while in this field, he understood that his real vocation was an artistic one. He says that he started painting with the intention of investigating deeply in his language, and he hasn't stopped doing it, always setting out on new journeys to look for new knowledge.
This same premise is the one that he chases with his painting, imposing himself new goals and taking as a reference the abstract expressionism and the Romanticism. His first paintings recalled the typical photos that are normally taken as a souvenir from a trip. His last work, on the contrary, experiments between the interior and exterior space and it talks metaphorically about that thing that the traveler doesn't experiment in a natural and direct way.
